HAKARAT HATOV

[ha-kar-at ha-tove] state of mind

  1. A fundamental teaching in Judaism, a Hebrew term that means "recognizing the good."
  2. A core value that emphasizes gratitude for all blessings in life, no matter how big or small.

Here at One Mitzvah a Day we focus on the Jewish value of Hakarat Hatov—we express gratitude to those who stand against antisemitism, and in support of Israel, through small daily good deeds (Mitzvot).

What is an example Mitzvah?

One Mitzvah a Day is a global platform dedicated to strengthening the commitment of allies who stand up against antisemitism and anti-Israel agendas. Subscribers receive a daily text with a link that makes it easy to send a gratitude email to business, cultural, and political leaders who have our backs - because the more we thank our allies, the more they’ll keep showing up.

We thank the U.S. Department of Education for launching investigations into campus antisemitism. We applaud Shopify and Apple for removing Kanye West from their platforms. We commend Trader Joe’s for standing firm and continuing to sell Israeli products despite pressure. And we recognize elected officials across the political spectrum who are speaking out and taking action to combat antisemitism.

One Mitzvah A Day is more than just a platform, it’s a growing movement fueled by small acts of courage and kindness.
